Mark Jenkins placed realistic mannequins all over the world.

You probably saw a lot of beautiful arts and crafts made by people. They show so many beautiful things and would have looked marvellous. But have you ever seen a mannequin before? If paintings and arts have surprised you in the past, mannequins are sure to do the same.

Mark Jenkins, an American artist, is the king of mannequins. Most of the mannequins you've seen on the internet are his work. These faceless people who show up on the streets are meant to make people question the reality of the things they see daily. He calls them urban theatre, and they have now turned into performance art with many layers.

He has a book called "The Urban Theatre," which "documents a wide range of his interesting and sometimes disturbing street installations" and how people spontaneously reacted and interacted with his interventions.

In 2003, he started his career, and his first sculpture was put in a garbage dump in Rio de Janeiro to bring attention to what happens to homeless children who live on the streets. The mannequin got a lot of attention, and since then, his works have been shown at places like Lazarides Galleries and the Kunsthalle Wien, as well as in many other cities around the world that are paid for by the government.

When asked about the subjects of his art, he said, "The main theme of the artist's work tends to be dark." They are often outcasts and sometimes live alone, so it's both poetic and sad. For example, the guy in the river is holding a bunch of coloured balloons that seem to be trying to lift him magically. There is always some hope in the background.

"I like to make people think about what is real and what isn't in their surroundings."People spend so much time on their phones." "All I wanted them to do was look up. Mark said. So at first, I was observing how people interacted with each other. Six years later, though, these pictures are more about poetry and capturing a magical moment.
